The building of Tap E on the Carlsberg plot houses the largest center for modern dance Northern Europe: DANSEhallerne.

Dansescenen, Danish Dance Theatre and House of Dance are the three biggest dance institutions of the country and with the joint address synergies arise in the name of dancing.

Copenhagen residents and international dancers and choreographers work together in the setting of Carlsberg's old mineral water bottling factory - on stages, in rehearsal spaces and in offices. It is a place where those still developing their career are able to work alongside the branch's top professionals.

Large Carl and Small Carl

Dansescenen is the leading performance space for modern dance in Denmark. A multitude of modern dance pieces, children's acts and international guest performances are produced here.

Danish Dance Theatre is the modern dance's flagship company, which under Tim Rushton's leadership and choreography has created dance works of an international standard.

The general public can enjoy Danish and international dance in Dansehallerne's performance spaces of Store Carl and Lille Carl (Large Carl and Small Carl), and the curious can find answers for all dance-related questions in the Dance Information Centre. Unique in its field, Dansehallerne combines all the different aspects of modern dance in the Greater Copenhagen area.

Dance24seven

Dansehallerne is also part of several international networks that work to enhance modern dance as an art form and the many players in performing arts.

Headed by the dance consultants Dansehallerne works purposefully with dance education in schools and institutions for children and young people in collaboration with municipalities across the country.

At the Dance Information or in the library, you can get answers to most questions about dance, Dance24seven works to promote dance at a national level with the great annual celebration of Day of Dance and other projects and last but not least many established dance companies are accommodated in Dansehallerne in Copenhagen.

Enjoy a bite

At the foyer of Dansehallerne you will find Cafe Elefanten. Here you can enjoy a bite to eat before or after the show. The cafe is open Monday-Saturday 10:00-21:00. But is always open one hour after the show.
